Exchanges with employers

All employers that were selected for Opiniorate have been or will be contacted to offer them a free account to enable them to give their views on issues discussed about them on Opiniorate. At the end of this page, as an example, the text of the e-mail that will be sent to the board of directors of McDonald’s is shown. Other employers will receive a more or less similar invitation. In the table their feedback will be summarized into six groupings: lacking employers; willing employers, top employers, rejecting employers, upset employers, intimidating employers, waiting employers:

  • Lacking employers: employers that have not (yet) reacted
  • Willing employers: employers that accepted a user account
  • Top employers: employers that accepted a user account and are using this to participate in dialogues with their employees
  • Rejecting employers: employers that did not accept a user account with no reason specified
  • Upset employers: employers that did not accept a user account and gave the impression that they were not happy with Opiniorate
  • Intimidating employers: employers that were not selected for Opiniorate under the pressure of them taking legal action
  • Waiting employers: employers that have not yet been contacted

E-mail (not yet sent) to the board of directors of McDonald's:

Dear chairman Hernandez and members of the Board,

This writing is to inform you that your company has been selected as a potential top employer on, a new website where employers are in the spotlight.

The website offers free services for employers and employees. Opiniorate is a new modern-day possibility for employers to stay in contact with employees. By studying dialogues on Opiniorate – and preferably contributing to them – you as an employer are given the opportunity to learn from the understandings of people on the work floor. For employees a secure online environment is realized by the use of anonymous user names.

You can participate in discussions about your company on Opiniorate by acquiring a free user account that identifies you as the employer. The dialogues with your employees will only be visible to you, your employees and involved unions.

We understand that discussing with anonymous employees is challenging for employers. However opinions of employees that are given without fear for the career are more straightforward and thus more valuable, also to you as the employer.

If you are willing to accept this offer for a free account and are going to use it effectively you will be listed on Opiniorate as a top employer that is eager to listen and discuss ideas from employees. With an account you will also be given the opportunity to advise us on how to fill the career and history pages about your company. With a top employer status you can also name two other employers that you would like us to add to the website with priority.

It is important for your employees to know how you as an employer feel about them acquiring an account on Opiniorate. So we hope you will inform us about your opinion. Your feedback or absence of feedback will lead to a classification of your company as an employer. This classification is published on Opiniorate.

In a brochure enclosed in this e-mail you can find more details about Opiniorate. The website is currently still in a testing phase but even now fully operational. No promotional activities have been undertaken so far as some things regarding the hosting of the website still have to be handled. To finance a proficient hosting for a period of at least one year that will allow us to welcome the many visitors that we anticipate, we are working on a crowdfunding project at In the future we anticipate a business model for Opiniorate that is based on voluntary sponsorships by employers and unions that feel that Opiniorate really has value for them. Of course we hope that your company will be one of them.

We are momentarily also contacting experts to join the venture as expert users and to advise us on how to operate Opiniorate in a correct manner. Experts are selected based on their expertise in the field of human resources and/or as advocates for workers' rights.

Opiniorate is a product of LiqueFactive, a Dutch company. With Opiniorate we are targeting employees and unions in English speaking countries. More information about Opiniorate can of course also be found on the website (see the FAQ there).

Let us know if you would like to accept the offer for a free user account so that we can send you a mail with the details.
